Emily Bolt

Emily Bolt is a founding partner of the firm who represents workers, disabled persons, and retirees in . Her work focuses on ERISA, disability, and insurance matters.

Emily is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where she served as an articles editor on the California Law Review. After law school she clerked for The Honorable John E. Munter of the San Francisco Superior Court Complex Civil Litigation Division and then for The Honorable Maxine M. Chesney of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

In addition to her work at the firm Emily serves as President of the Board for Crestmont School in Richmond, California, a non-profit parent-teacher cooperative school dedicated to providing an excellent academic education grounded in social justice and community engagement.

Outside of work, Emily loves to read books, get outside, and travel with her three children.

Jim Keenley

Jim Keenley is a founding partner of the firm and widely recognized expert in ERISA cases and financial elder abuse matters. He has served as lead counsel in numerous successful cases on behalf of disabled persons, retirees, and the elderly, obtaining judgments and settlements worth millions of dollars to his clients.

Jim is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where he served as the Co-Editor in Chief of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. He is the author of How Many Injuries Does it Take: Article III Standing in the Class Action Context, 95 Cal. Law Rev. 849 (2007) which was published in the prestigious California Law Review in 2007 and has since been widely cited by practicing lawyers, legal scholars, and jurists including in Witkin’s Summary of Constitutional Law, The New York University Law Review, the University of Chicago Law Review, the Missouri Court of Appeals, in briefs to the United States Supreme Court, along with many other treatises, academic journals, and trial court decisions.

Since law school, Jim has been in private practice focusing exclusively on representing the cause and interests of workers, the disabled, and retirees. He is devoted to providing smart, effective, and vigorous representation to those who need it the most against the biggest insurance companies in the world.

Outside of work, Jim spends his time raising his three children, playing softball, and riding his bike. He loves to garden, cook, and lift heavy things.

Brian Kim

Brian Kim is a founding partner of the firm who specializes in representing the disabled in ERISA and bad-faith insurance cases. He has been lead counsel in numerous prominent cases that you can read about here and helped his clients recover millions of dollars in unpaid benefits for people who are too sick or injured to work.

Brian is a graduate of the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and Harvard University. He has devoted his career to representing disabled people against the greed and dirty tricks of insurance companies and has handled matters involving every major carrier.

Outside of work, Brian is a devoted husband and the busy father of two children. He is a classically trained pianist who can often be found playing music with his family, staying fit in the gym, or relaxing on the beach.
